Brief: Nakakembo Daniella is a survivor of child trafficking and sacrifice, at the age of 8 in 2019, was kidnapped along with her late young brother( Segawa Denison)who was 5 years then from their local church in Matugga. They were trafficked to Kalangala islands and were then enrolled in a nearby school called Mulabana Primary school were the suspect was working as a school chef and a school guard. Here the victims were coached into calling him Dad and changed their names. It was one day that a student went missing from this school by the names of Nakyondwa Angel 10 years, and according to the eyewitnesses, she was last seen walking with the school guard. This time the guard had also been absent from school for 2 days. Make a Child Smile was informed and joined in the search together with our partners. Mutaawe James' phone was tracked which led to his arrest in the forest of Kibibi Gombe where he was found with Nakyondwa Angel, the girl who was missing in Kalangala and had built a temporary shelter deep in the forest where he sexually assaulted her and also witnessed the killing of other victims. It was through Mutaawe James'confession that led to the rescue of Nakakembo Daniella but unfortunately her brother didn't make it but showed the grave of his remains at the porch of his house at the island, he also confessed having kidnapped Kwagala Cathy 9 years then from Matugga also and buried her inside the house. The remains of both victims were dug with the help of the forensic team and samples were taken to Mulago Referral Hospital for DNA tests. It was confirmed and they were given to their respective families for decent burials. Nakakembo Daniella was enrolled in a psycho social therapy session for a year at Willow International and was then reintegrated back to her family. She is currently living with her mother, who runs a shop in one room and uses the second room as their bedroom.
